Buy, Watch or Pass - Week 11

Every week, I will examine some of the more obscure top performers in Fantasy Football. Here are the names I came across in Week 11:

QB's

J.P. Losman, Buffalo Bills - 340 pass yds, 3 TD's, 1 INT

J.P. Losman came out of left field on Sunday, throwing for 340 yards and 3 touchdowns, including two 83 yard bombs to Lee Evans in the 1st quarter. It was the best game in the career of the young QB, but it did come against a very porous Houston Texans team. The rest of the schedule is much tougher outside of a couple games, so most likely this will be the last time we'll see a game like this out of him this season. Don't put too much stock into this performance. PASS

Jason Campbell, Washington Redskins - 196 pass yds, 2 TD's

Washington finally benched Mark Brunell and put in their 2005 first round pick Jason Campbell. Campbell performed well, throwing for 196 yards & 2 touchdowns while completing 56% of his passes. It was a nice start for the young QB, but it wasn't an eye opener either. When the fantasy playoffs come around he has some incredible matchups versus the likes of New Orleans & New York Giants, so if he improves then he could prove useful during that time. His next couple games will be against some tougher secondaries which will prove his worth. I'll need to see more of those games before I put him on my roster. PASS

RB's

Mike Bell, Denver Broncos - 90 rush yds, 2 TD's

Tatum Bell was inactive with turf toe, so Mike Bell took his place and played a good game against a very tough San Diego run defense. Obviously any Denver running back is worth a roster spot, but Shanahan has been making it difficult for owners on what to do with Mike Bell. He played well versus Indianapolis, got the start versus Pittsburgh and didn't play well, was inactive against Oakland & then started against San Diego. Turf toe is a nagging injury that can be with a player a whole season, so more starts could be on the horizon for Mike. He should be on a fantasy roster & if he's available I'd grab him. He has value when he plays, but you definitely need to pay close attention to what Shanahan is doing up until game time, otherwise you may be left in the dust. BUY

Wali Lundy & Samkon Gado, Houston Texans - Lundy: (61 rush yds, 22 rec yds, 1 TD), Gado: (69 rush yds, 30 rec yds, 1 TD)

Here's another running back quandary for fantasy owners to get headaches about. Lundy & Gado both split carries on Sunday and both were productive versus a below average Buffalo rushing defense. Lundy is still the starter but head coach Gary Kubiak said that he has been wanting to split the carries between the two and seems to have finally lived up to his word. Houston has so many favorable matchups versus run defenses that either of these two could make a difference down the stretch. Unfortunately we don't have access to Houston's game plans so choosing which one to start is just like flipping a coin. If you own either of these 2 keep them on the bench until this situation straightens itself out. WATCH

DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers - 114 rush yds

DeShaun Foster went out with an injury (again) and DeAngelo Williams stepped in with a 114 rushing yards on 20 carries. Foster said that he could have returned in the second half but because Williams was so effective they didn't want to risk anything. Foster is still the starter and will be playing this weekend. Everyone may be thinking Williams will start to steal some carries, but head coach John Fox hasn't said anything to that effect yet so we can't assume it's going to happen. Foster is injury prone, which could make Williams very valuable if he goes out for an extended period of time. It's possible the talented first round pick Williams is available in your league, so keep an eye on him and the running back situation in Carolina. WATCH

WR's

Devery Henderson, New Orleans Saints - 169 rec yds

When Marques Colston went down in the first quarter, Devery Henderson came in and the Saints offense didn't miss a beat. He caught 9 passes for 169 yards, marking the second time in 3 weeks he's stepped in for an injured starting receiver and played great. Henderson seems to be figuring out the game pretty well right now but he is still the number 3 receiver and will receive only limited playing time because of it. Right now Colston is day to day, so it's not clear if he will be playing this Sunday against Atlanta. Keep a look out on how things shake out with the injuries to Marques Colston & Joe Horn in New Orleans. If either needs to be shut down, Henderson would make an excellent pickup. WATCH

Mark Bradley, Chicago Bears - 80 rec yds, 1 TD

Bernard Berrian is the main deep threat in Chicago, but he's been very ineffective ever since bruising his ribs and doesn't appear to be completely healthy. Meanwhile, Mark Bradley is finally healthy and has been taking over Berrian's role and has been doing it well. He hauled in a 57 yard TD in Chicago's victory over the Jets on Sunday, making many to wonder who will starting along side Muhsin Muhammad. Berrian is still the starter at this moment, but will probably remain ineffective until those bruised ribs are completely healed. Bradley was a second round pick from last year and has the talent to take over Berrian's role if he has to be shut down. WATCH

Reche Caldwell, New England Patriots - 70 rec yds, 1 TD

While Tom Brady distributes the ball as good as anybody in the game, he is starting to develop some great rapport with Reche Caldwell. For the third time in four games, Caldwell has hauled in 70+ yards and a TD. Granted this last weekend it was against a poor Green Bay secondary, nevertheless, he's becoming more & more impressive by the week. He has a couple games left on the schedule which you will probably not want to play him, but if you mix and match his starts, you should be rewarded. He now appears to be the primary wide receiver target in New England. BUY

Braylon Edwards, Cleveland Browns - 137 rec yds

Braylon Edwards has turned things around and appears to be back on track like he was to start the year. He brought in 7 catches for 137 yards on Sunday, giving him 227 yards & 2 TD's in his last three games. Making things even better is that the rest of his schedule is favorable for him. Besides him & Kellen Winslow, there are limited options for Cleveland, making Edwards a prime target. If he's available, I'd snatch him up. BUY
