Fantasy Football 2009 - Player Profile - Drew Brees

Drew Brees was a force in 2008, accumulating some incredible statistics over the course of the season. He finished the year throwing for an amazing 5069 yards, 32 touchdowns and only 17 interceptions. Odds are if you had Brees starting at the QB helm for your team, you were amongst the point leaders by the end of the year.

Brees has shown he is a reliable option at QB, and has thrown for over 4400 yards in each of his three years in New Orleans. He has seen his touch down numbers rise each year as well. Looking back at how his career has played out thus far, Brees has been consistant for numerous years including his time in San Diego. However, with his move to New Orleans prior to the 2006 season, Brees has taken his game to a whole other level and is making fantasy owner's proud they drafted him.

Looking ahead to 2009, it is hard to picture Brees not finding success. He finds one of the game's best receivers in Marques Colston and the very talented Reggie Bush lining up alongside him. At tight end the Saints have another weapon in Jeremy Shockey. With all these weapons at his disposal, Brees is sure to be amongst the leaders in passing. Dont expect to see another 5000 yard season, for those are tough to come by. However, dont be surprised to see Bree throw for 300+ yards almost every game with a bundle of touchdowns to go with.

Brees is a top fantasy option and so far has yet to disappoint being selected amongst the upper tier of quarter backs.
